Spinning Monitor or Polar Monitor
and
Spherical Display

the polar monitor is a spinning row of RGB LED's that we started to develop in 98.
It is controlled by our micro-controller the Forth Board.
It is designed for the projection of graphics and images produced by the brain of sculptures:
like Lumabloom and other future works. Two different models are currently under development:
one is a circular flat panel and the other is a 3D spherical display.
Here are images of the fist prototype. More info will be presented during its first display.
in October at Crash Art. So stay tuned for this amazing technology.

LED light disappears when facing opposite side of spherical trace.Right the light disappears behind the supporting post.

Here we can see thevariation of light intensity.

Spherical display cad image shows the protective sphere in polycarbonate,
the heavy steel base(blue), and two of the rotating axis and commutators.
It also shows the array of led tube(pink).

The details of the inner working parts can be viewed.
The two main motors that drive the x and y axis,
and the third motor(red cylender)that spin the LED on the y axis.
