Yves was born in Nice and lived in Paris until the age of five. He then moved to Ibiza, Spain in the Baleares Islands. In Ibiza, he was strongly influenced by the environment of the islands, where he spent the majority of his time surrounded by nature. At the age of twelve, he returned to Paris. He remained there until the age of twenty-one. While in Paris, he studied architecture and design for two years, cybernetics theory of systems for two years, completed his mandatory army service. At the age of twenty-one, Yves moved to the United States of America, where he learned English in Colorado and then settled in Arizona where he met his wife Kathy Papciak Klein. They have a daughter, Joseffa. In Arizona, Yves studied computer science for two years at Arizona State University, and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in sculpture.
During his sculpture studies, Yves became interested in robotized sculptures, which combined well with his fifteen year background in neural networks and general artificial intelligence studies.One of his projects known as the "Pod", are a swarm of floating pods that interact with one another and genetically alter their behavior within the environment of themselves and their immediate surroundings. From 94 to 97, Yves has been devoting his time to creating, developing, and exhibiting the "Octofungi". For the past few years Yves has been working on numerous project some of which can be seen on this site.
Yves is also the CEO of the company Lorax Works which produce and market microcontrolers and other accessories for the robotic community.
