VIVEK PATEL

I am from a land of many mysteries and fascinations, the home of Himalayas, the tallest mountains, largest and oldest democracy, incredible culture and spirituality, in short “India”.

I am from the west part of India (Gujarat), and did my undergraduate studies there too in Mechatronics Engineering ( A combined branch of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics Engineering, with a touch of Computer Science Engineering.) After than I moved to Arizona, to do my Masters in Mechanical Engineering with Design as major at Arizona State University. Graduated in 2009 and working at Lorax Works LLC currently.

With Yves Klein, I assist in designing the structural elements of Living Sculptures. Besides that I involve in to designing and manufacturing structural elements and mechanical components, using cad tools and other softwares. And program, maintain and operate CNC machines, also modify them to the specific needs of the sculpture part to be manufactured. We often use advance tools like, FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools for designing shapes and parts with required parameters.

I like arts and robotics, so I enjoy working at Lorax Works. Arts because its one of my hobby along with adventure sports, mountaineering and trekking. And Robotics because its the thing that has always fascinated me. I have also been creative head for Indian Students Association at Arizona State University for about 3 years, and also done few projects on robotics, automation and automated vehicle systems.
