I was born and raised in Elmhurst, Illinois. After graduating from high school, I came to Arizona to attend Arizona State University. In 1998, I completed a degree in Computer Systems Engineering.
I have been working with Yves since September 1997. Recently there, I have been working on a radio communication link for Octofungi, an eight-eyed, eight-legged robot. I work in both hardware and software, as well as system design, project management, and propaganda.
I
have another job working for a phat web company called VSNI.
There I head the Graphic Arts & Web Design department. I work primarily
in Flash and HTML, but am starting to get my feet wet with 3D stuff and CGI.
My friend Will Poulson and I have also been building a website for the arts in phoenix. www.PHXarts.com is dedicated to building awareness of and facilicating communication for the Arts in Phoenix and the valley. Currently, we provide the valley's largest online theatre listing. In the future we will host areas for galleries, dance troupes, arts groups & organizations, individual artists and musicians. PHXarts is a long-term project.
I have been an active participant in the Phoenix arts scene since 1991. Before working with Yves Klein, I worked with D. A. Therrien and COMFORT CONTROL SYSTEMS. There I helped build large scale machine sculptures, as well as maintain the Icehouse Complex, and assist/perform in local productions and traveling performances.
I am a publisher. I have been publishing a magazine named 23Thought Crime23 since 1990. I have also run a downtown artspace called Thought Crime since 1995. There we have had a retail store, gallery, coffeehouse, screenprint studio, offset shop, graphic design studio, as well as live/work artist residences. Currently, we are hosting our coffeehouse, Cafe Alamut on the third Saturday each month.
My plans for the future are to get married to the beautiful and lovely Joanna Lockyear, buy an old building in downtown Phoenix, and set up a permanant headquarters for Thought Crime. I look forward to working more on my own artworks, concentrating on sculpture and robotics. I have done large scale video installations, multi-media experience chambers, sculptures, installations, posters, T-shirts, jewelry, and propaganda.
As a Computer Engineer, I am interested in creating intelligent, living robots, separating the computer from the CRT and designing alternative human/computer interfaces. I am a member of the ACM and a registered Thought Criminal since 1990.
